Is there a waiting list for transfers?

No, we do not have a waiting list.

Will this event sell out?

YES! Register NOW to make sure you don't miss out!

I am injured/pregnant/leaving the country/etc. and I cannot race. Will you transfer my registration to my friend?

Yes. We allow transfers until July 20th. (NO exceptions!) Please use the contact us form and send us your information (Name and e-mail you registered with) and your friend's information (name, e-mail, t-shirt size, age, birth date, etc.) This MUST come from you, not the person who is taking your place. It is up to you to collect the money from the person you are transferring your registration to. There will be a $10 fee for all transfers.

Can I defer my entry to 2014 if I am unable to race?

We do not allow deferments, but we do allow transfers. (see above)

I would like to switch from the triathlon to the a different event. (Aqua Velo or Duathlon) What should I do?

Please use the contact form and let us know. Be sure to include your full name.

Can I volunteer at this event?

YES! The more the merrier! Please invite your friends/family to join you. Fill out our volunteer form and we will let you know what you can do to help! Volunteers get a generous registration discount on any of our future events!

Can two people make up a relay – instead of three?

Yes, just let us know who is doing what.

When and where is race packet pick up prior to the race morning?

Additional pick up dates/times will be added. Please check Packet Pickup for details.

Can I pick up a packet for another competitor?

Under certain circumstances, we realize that it is difficult to pick up. We are making special arrangements to accommodate those that need others to pick up for them. Details soon!

How do I register as a team?

You can register as a relay team of two or three people. It is on the registration page.

Is the event still open – when does it close?

The event will close out at 1,800 participants. There will be no race day registration.

How does the swim start?

You will start in waves according to your age group. Waves will be 3 minutes apart. You will have plenty of time to enter the water as aggressively or as leisurely as you want. There will be swim angels and lifeguards all along course.

Are wetsuits required for the swim?

No they are not. Maybe about half of the ladies wear them. The water is usually warm enough to not need them for warth.

I am really not a strong swimmer, what are the distances for the Duathlon?

The Duathlon starts with a two mile run on the boardwalk. Heat start time will be determined prior to race week.
